01Our approach
PlayMC provides subdomains and related infrastructure for Minecraft servers. We do not control the independent communities operating behind those addresses, and a PlayMC subdomain does not mean that we endorse, verify, or operate the server using it.
We do, however, take misuse of our infrastructure seriously. When PlayMC services are used for malicious, deceptive, or harmful activity, we may investigate and take appropriate action, including restricting or permanently removing access to our services.
02Keeping yourself safe
Minecraft communities can introduce you to new people, servers, and experiences. As with any online community, be careful about what you share and who you trust.
Never share passwords, authentication codes, or recovery codes with another person.
Only enter Discord, Microsoft, or Minecraft credentials on their official services.
Be cautious if someone pushes you to send money, disable security software, or open suspicious links.
PlayMC will never need your Microsoft, Minecraft, or Discord password.
03Phishing and impersonation
A PlayMC subdomain alone should never be treated as proof that a Minecraft server is official, verified, or trustworthy. Server owners are responsible for clearly representing their identity and community.
Using PlayMC infrastructure for phishing, credential theft, impersonation intended to deceive users, malware distribution, or similar deceptive activity is not permitted.
04Protecting younger users
Minecraft is played by people of many different ages, including children and teenagers. Communities using PlayMC infrastructure should take that responsibility seriously.
Young users should be careful when communicating privately with people they only know online. You should never feel pressured to share personal information, photographs, your location, passwords, money, or anything else that makes you uncomfortable.
If someone online is threatening you, pressuring you, or making you uncomfortable, stop interacting with them and speak with a trusted adult.
05Harassment and harmful behaviour
PlayMC is infrastructure rather than a Minecraft moderation network, so we generally cannot moderate conversations or behaviour occurring entirely inside independent Minecraft servers. Server owners remain responsible for moderating their own communities.
If PlayMC infrastructure itself is being used to facilitate serious harassment, threats, scams, or other abusive activity, it can be reported to us.
06Your wellbeing matters
Online communities should be enjoyable, but online experiences can sometimes become stressful, overwhelming, or harmful. If something happening online is affecting your wellbeing, stepping away from the situation and speaking with someone you trust can help.
- A family member, parent, or guardian.
- A trusted friend or another trusted adult.
- A teacher or school counselor.
- A doctor or mental health professional.
If you believe you or somebody else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. PlayMC is not a medical or crisis-support service and cannot provide professional mental health advice.
07Server owner responsibility
Running a Minecraft server means managing more than technical infrastructure. Server owners using PlayMC are expected to operate their services responsibly, maintain reasonable security, moderate harmful behaviour where appropriate, and respond to credible reports from their community.
A PlayMC subdomain must not be used to intentionally mislead users about who owns or operates a service.
08Reporting abuse
If you believe a PlayMC address or account is being used for prohibited or harmful activity, you can report it to us from your PlayMC account.
- Provide the PlayMC address involved.
- Explain what happened and when it occurred.
- Include relevant links that can help us verify the issue.
- Do not include passwords, authentication tokens, recovery codes, or unnecessary personal information.
Reports are reviewed based on the information available to us. Submitting a report does not automatically mean that an account or address will be suspended.
09What we may take action against
PlayMC may restrict access to its services when our infrastructure is used for phishing or credential theft, malware distribution, scams or deliberate fraud, deceptive impersonation, attempts to compromise accounts or systems, serious threats or targeted harassment involving our infrastructure, unlawful activity, or repeated deliberate violations of PlayMC policies.
Depending on the circumstances, action may include removing an address, restricting features, or suspending an account.
10Fair enforcement
Reports do not automatically result in enforcement. Where practical, we review the context and available evidence before taking action.
Different situations may require different responses, and enforcement can depend on severity, intent, previous violations, and risk to other users. We also try to distinguish genuine abuse from disagreements between server owners, players, or communities.
PlayMC should not be used as a tool for retaliatory or knowingly false reports.
11Independent communities
Minecraft servers using PlayMC remain independent communities. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, they are not operated, sponsored, verified, or endorsed by PlayMC or Septy Studios.
Server owners are responsible for their own servers, staff, content, rules, and communities. PlayMC's responsibility is limited to the services and infrastructure that we provide.
12A safer platform
Trust & Safety is not something we consider finished. As PlayMC grows, we may update our protections, reporting systems, and policies to respond to new forms of abuse and new risks affecting Minecraft communities.
Our objective is to keep PlayMC open and accessible while preventing our infrastructure from being used to harm others. If you discover something that should not be on PlayMC, report it.
